Our Associates are responsible not only for service development and delivery, but also in providing leadership to our growing team of project and programme managers and participating in client and business development. You will be responsible for delivering health, life science and/or higher education projects and programmes, while providing leadership to project teams and contributing to client relationships and business development.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the successful delivery of health, life science and/or higher education projects and programmes of varying size and complexity.
  • Defining, planning, and implementing the delivery structure, phasing and resources needed to deliver the required outcomes and to realise the business case and return on investment for our clients.
  • Identifying, mitigating, and managing risks, issues, and dependencies in accordance with recognised industry standards or the agreed risk management policy, framework, and project/programme governance.
  • Leading, managing, and motivating delivery teams and others working on the project to ensure there is a clear understanding of outcomes, roles and responsibilities.
  • Supporting the smooth running of programme/project governance and decision-making, contributing delivery subject matter expertise and context when required.
  • Leading the production of regular project performance reports to provide concise and up to date delivery status and to support senior level decision making.
  • Managing the financial performance of commissions, against budget and revenue targets.
  • Proactively monitoring progress to ensure that all commissions are managed in line with Company values, standing financial instructions, and industry good practice, and in compliance with appropriate legislation, statutory approvals, and mandatory standards.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for clients and teams related to these commissions.
  • Assisting in the development and management of a specialist team of consultants, providing guidance and mentorship to junior consultants, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Identifying and proactively pursuing business opportunities and building a pipeline of future work.
  • Supporting bid proposals and responses to tenders.
Demonstration & Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Project Manager in complex project/programme environments, preferably in construction consultancy, health, or life sciences and acting as Project Lead i.e. being the accountable person for delivery of that commission.
  • Project delivery utilising common procurement methods and contract strategies ideally NEC 3 or 4.
  • Experience in delivering in accordance with industry delivery best practice, such as the NHS Capital Investment Manual, RIBA Plan of Work, OGC Gateways.
  • Substantial experience of engaging with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels of seniority.
  • Experience in presenting at programme and project board meetings using written and visual presentation methods and tools.
  • Excellent communications and facilitation skills, formal report writing, advising on complex issues and / or recommendations, with ability to translate technical information into easily understandable concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferably educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant field.
  • Membership of a chartered institute in the construction industry (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, CIOB, APM or MICE).
  • Recognised Project/programme Management qualifications and/or chartership, e.g. APM PMQ, Managing Successful Programmes, NEC PM accreditation, MRICs or ChPP.
  • An aptitude for business development and/or mentoring others in their professional development.
