A little more about your role…
WSP has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Engagement team. We drive best practice in engagement, community relations, consultation and stakeholder management in the delivery of some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects as well as delivering expertise within the water, health, energy and environmental sectors.
Within our Land, Instructure Planning and Engagement business unit, you will be supported by our team of senior engagement specialists to support the public consultation and engagement element of our work on projects. You will also be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues across WSP to deliver engaging communications.
You will do this by:
- helping communities and stakeholders understand projects and how it may impact them by writing easy to understand communications
- giving people opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback through publishing communications, organising events logistics and helping to run surveys
- presenting feedback to help projects develop in a responsible way by understanding and data coding and helping prepare reports
- supporting our clients based around the UK and internationally by attending and minuting meetings, ensuring accuracy in our documents and reports and tracking stakeholder engagement
- proactively supporting your teams (project, location and Engagement) to deliver quality communications and engagement activity.
YOUR TEAM
You will be joining a UK-wide team of 60+ communication and engagement specialists who are passionate about what we do. Reporting to one of the Regional Team Leads, you will be a key member of the team supporting projects and the team to deliver on time and on budget.
You will be based in one of our key offices where our offices are designed to provide a collaborative environment. Our offices are centrally located within walking distance of public transport.
We offer flexible working with a number of team days in-person mixed with working from home days.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
Preferred qualifications / education:
- At least degree-qualified, or two years’ experience in a related field.
- Membership of relevant professional or trade body is desirable.
- Experience in the road, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors.
Preferred competencies:
- Strong team player who has an enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
- Well ordered, structured approach to delivery of tasks, and flexible with ability to adapt within demanding and fast-changing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.
- Have great writing skills and pay attention to details.
- Have demonstrable communication or engagement experience.
- Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data collected as part of the consultation process.
- Knowledge of social and digital media channels with a view to using these to better connect with target audiences.
- Knowledge of drafting and print processes to deliver printed documents for events.
