A little more about your role…
As CAD Technologist / Technician you will be responsible for creating, managing and maintaining site-wide drawings and building information models using AutoCAD and Revit. Working closely with WSP’s Estate Digitisation Team, the role will support the development of accurate digital estate information through 2D drawings, 3D building models and associated asset data.
Your role will support the estate digitisation strategy by helping to create and maintain Revit models, validate survey information, organise project data within the Common Data Environment and contribute to the development of digital estate records and future digital twin capability.
As CAD Technologist / Technician will manage and organise construction-related data, drawings and models by:
- Create, manage and maintain 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit building models to support estate digitisation.
- Incorporate existing and new survey data into 2D drawings, 3D models and digital estate records.
- Work with estate and digitisation teams to support data accuracy, consistency and integration.
- Develop and maintain room, space, building and asset information within digital models.
- Organise CAD, Revit model and drawing information within the Common Data Environment and follow agreed document control processes.
- Support quality assurance, data validation and continuous improvement of modelling workflows and digital estate processes.
This role will be a Fixed-Term Contract for 3 months.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Post-qualification industry experience.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Experience producing both 2D CAD drawings and 3D BIM models.
- Experience in estate management, construction logistics or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles.
- Strong understanding of digitisation technologies and data management principles.
- Experience working with survey data, including point cloud, measured building survey or GIS-derived information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and digital models.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
