We are looking for Graduates for our Environmental Services teams, who have a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. Air Quality – London, Basingstoke, Birmingham or Exeter

Landscape Architecture – Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London

A little bit more about your role and the team…

Working as a Graduate in our Environmental Services teams will mean working on innovative projects, exploring and learning about the numerous aspects of the requirements for the services we provide, which could include Nature Advisory, including Marine & Aquatics, Air Quality, Acoustics or Landscape Architecture. You will be working on projects across a broad range of clients, sectors and scales.

Projects

Our teams work on assignments in the UK, and you will be helping deliver projects such as:

  • Air Quality framework and GLA Air Quality Filters project
  • Air Quality: Air dispersion modelling, Air quality monitoring, Environmental impact assessments, Regulatory permitting and Health risk communication
  • Air Quality - Sizewell Power Station – organisation of fieldwork surveys.
  • Landscape Architecture have been involved with a wide variety of local and national projects across a range of sectors and involvement throughout all stages of the project life cycle. Projects have included active travel plans, HS2 Rail, Renewable Energy projects, public realm designs for town centres and pedestrianisation schemes for local authorities.

Our Environmental Services Teams:

Air Quality

Working as a graduate in the Air Quality team is an exciting entry into air quality modelling and management, where scientific expertise creates real-world impact. You’ll gain technical skills in monitoring key pollutants and in assessing and managing their effects on human health and sensitive ecosystems. Opportunities also include learning about odour assessment and management.

This role features hands-on site experience and the chance to develop expertise in dispersion modelling, all within a large environmental consultancy that offers cross-sector collaboration, mentorship, and career growth. As the field evolves, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, exploring how AI and big data transform environmental analysis. Your work will influence policy, guide sustainable development, and help protect biodiversity across industries.

Day-to-day activities could include:

  • Gaining hands-on experience with advanced dispersion modelling tools such as ADMS and ADMS-Roads.
  • Designing and implementing ambient air quality monitoring plans.
  • Contributing to bid submissions, quotes, and tenders.
  • Collaborating with internal and external clients, project teams, and Local Authorities.
  • Carrying out data collation and in-depth analysis to extract valuable insights.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations.

We strongly encourage our team members to get involved with the Institute of Air Quality Management. Our team offer a wealth of learning opportunities. These include monthly topical presentations and focused, individualised learning sessions.

Landscape Architecture

Working as a graduate in the Landscape Architecture team, you will be supporting client projects alongside senior staff within a large team of landscape architects and urban designers. Candidates will contribute to landscape design and assessment across various sectors, making decisions suited to their experience and receiving guidance from the team. WSP offers strong opportunities for early career professionals to develop skills in sustainable design, reporting, graphics, and scientific thinking while working on both large and small projects.

Day-to-day activities could include:

  • Provision of landscape consultancy services and technical input for projects as directed by senior manager.
  • Activities include written and graphic input to strategic studies and guidance documents, LVIA and TVIA technical reports.
  • Design development from feasibility to detailed design, hard and soft landscape detailing and specification, tender and construction period support, post construction management activities.
  • You will also be using software such as AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite amongst others.

You will join an enthusiastic and supportive team, providing you with a challenging and fulfilling career. In this team, you will be dealing with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with colleagues and adapting to dynamic project environments.
