2026 Graduate Programme - Civil Engineering

We are seeking Civil Engineering graduates for our Local Government, Roads, and Bridges teams. The role offers a collaborative environment, hands‑on responsibilities from day one, and opportunities to contribute to design development, site assessments, and technical reporting across a variety of projects.

Local Government, Highways (Norfolk)

  • Assist in planning and drafting highway improvement and maintenance schemes.
  • Participate in on‑site inspections and evaluations to inform design and maintenance decisions.
  • Prepare documentation that supports engineering decisions, compliance, and project tracking.

Bridges (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carlisle, Exeter)

  • Conduct bridge inspections using specialist access, including pontoons, gantries, and mobile platforms.
  • Organise site visits, structural design and assessment activities.
  • Manage asset maintenance, design of structural repairs and bridge assessment calculations.
  • Supervise contractors and support project management tasks.
  • Participate in business development and tendering processes.

Roads (Truro, Basingstoke, Guildford)

  • Design and draft transport solutions for national schemes, active travel, public transport and rail interface projects.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, perform data analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate projects, communicate with stakeholders, and ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Engage in learning and development activities.

Graduate Development Programme

The two‑year programme supports personal and professional growth through blended learning, core business and professional skills training, career development workshops, networking, mentoring for professional registration, and on‑the‑job experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2:2 in a master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant civil engineering subject.
  • For Bridge opportunities, a master's degree is required.
  • Passion for engineering and the built environment, creativity, and problem‑solving drive.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and adapt to dynamic project environments.
  • Expectations to start work in either April or September 2026.
