We are looking for Graduates for our Building Specialists teams with a flexible approach and a passion to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment across a diverse range of clients and projects.
We are recruiting for Graduates in the following services and locations:
- Fire Engineering: London, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh
- Digital Services: London, Manchester and Glasgow
- Energy Solutions: Glasgow and London or Leeds
Role and Team
As a Graduate in one of our Building Specialists teams, you will work on exciting and innovative projects, applying specialist knowledge to solve client problems. You will be embedded in multidisciplinary teams and mentored by experienced professionals, gaining exposure to real-world challenges and solutions in a supportive environment.

- Monklands Replacement Hospital, Scotland
- Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle
- Control Posts, Heathrow Airport
- Mayfield Republic
Building Specialist Teams
Fire Engineering – involved in developing the fire strategy for a building, including the design of fire protection systems, means of escape, building layout, smoke control, sprinklers and fire performance of materials. As a Graduate, you will help protect buildings and occupants by ensuring design aligns with Building Regulations Part B and by producing fire strategy documents and technical reports. Day-to-day activities may include:
- Producing fire strategy reports for proposed and existing buildings
- Writing technical design notes
- Marking up architectural drawings to produce fire strategy plans
- Reviewing existing documentation and participating in design team meetings and site visits
- Responding to fire-related queries from other disciplines
Digital Services – lead the implementation of BIM, information management and visualisation. You will join a forward-thinking Digital Services team delivering BIM and digital solutions, learning from experienced professionals as you grow your career. Day-to-day activities may include:
- Supporting project teams in delivering BIM, digital advisory and innovative services
- Assisting in developing and managing digital strategies
- Coordinating and reviewing BIM models for accuracy
- Ensuring compliance with BIM standards (ISO 19650)
- Helping implement workflows for digital collaboration
- Contributing to bids and proposals with BIM and digital input
Façade Engineering – design of building envelopes across a range of projects. You will work with architects, developers and contractors from concept to construction. Day-to-day activities may include:
- Engineering calculations including thermal modelling and glass design analysis
- Developing design details and deliverables
- Learning about façade materials and engineering considerations
- Site inspections of façade installations
- Gaining awareness of weather performance, ventilation, solar gain and insulation
- Collaborating with other design disciplines
- Improving competence across software such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Flixo, Bisco, Builddesk, Strand, SJ Mepla
Energy Solutions – WSP’s heat networks business, developing technology to support net-zero goals. You will be involved in modeling and delivery across the project lifecycle. Day-to-day activities may include:
- Engaging with clients and supporting project managers
- Visiting construction sites to assess progress and quality
- Learning new software and tools
- Participating in design team meetings
- Creating presentations and supporting bids
Graduate Development Programme
Two-year programme designed to support personal and professional development through blended learning, core business and professional skills training, mentoring for professional registration and broad on-the-job experience. We encourage chartered status with bodies such as ICE, IStructE, IMechE and IET, supported by training agreements.

What we look for
You\’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field. Specific criteria and timelines:
- Complete the online application in full; this includes answering all questions and a skill enabler assessment. These are essential parts of the recruitment process.
- Start dates in April or September 2026.
- Passion for Building Specialists services and awareness of building systems (lighting, security).
- Interest in digital engineering and BIM for the future of the built environment.
