2026 Degree Apprenticeship – WSP
We are looking for energetic, ambitious engineers to join WSP’s global community. This paid, full‑time, permanent position will provide comprehensive training and real‑world experience to help you grow into an engineer, technician, or project manager.
About the Role
As an apprentice you will join dynamic teams across a range of sectors and projects. You’ll be expected to:
- Work alongside experienced engineers on projects from day one.
- Ask questions, analyze problems from new angles, and support solutions that push engineering boundaries.
- Assist in shaping tomorrow’s sustainable communities.
- Take part in on‑the‑job learning complemented by structured training sessions.
Apprenticeship Opportunities
- Building Services Engineering – Learn all aspects of mechanical, electrical and hydraulics services.
- Civil Engineering – Design, construct and maintain major infrastructure.
- Embedded Electrical & Electronic Engineering – Focus on energy analysis, power systems and control networks.
- Environmental Practitioner – Work on air quality, climate change, sustainable energy and land services.
- Project Management – Manage design and construction stages of projects.
- Rail & Rail Systems Engineering – Develop metro, light rail, heavy rail and signalling systems.
Apprenticeship Programme
- Start September 2026 in partnership with a university.
- Balance university study either one day per week or through block placement.
- Earn a full undergraduate degree in your chosen subject.
- Receive blended learning: induction, training days, online modules, on‑the‑job experience and professional development.
- Support to become registered with relevant professional bodies.
- Typical duration 5–6 years including end‑point assessment.
Requirements
- 5 GCSEs Grade C/Level 5 or above (English, Maths, Science).
- Achieved or predicted A‑Levels that meet the specified standards (details vary by stream).
- For engineering subjects, a minimum C in Maths or Further Maths.
- Or a BTEC Extended Diploma in an engineering‑related subject with Further Maths.
