As a Graduate Engineer, you will work alongside industry experts on cutting-edge projects that contribute to the advancement of infrastructure, planning and technology. We are recruiting for Graduate Civil & Structural Engineers throughout the UK for the following business disciplines and locations:
- Transport and Infrastructure | WSP Civils – Our Civils teams utilise practical experience, strong numerical skills, asset management practice and an understanding of structural behaviour to create designs or advise on policy for roads, railways, bridges, property, ports and airports. Degree backgrounds considered: MEng Civil Engineering or MEng Civil & Structural. Locations: Truro, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Carlisle.
- Roads – Our Roads team play a critical role in the functioning of communities and economies. By contributing to the design and improvement of transportation systems across many major projects, you’ll be directly contributing to the betterment of society. Degree backgrounds considered: BEng/MEng Civil Engineering. Location: Belfast.
- Planning Services | WSP – Join our high-performing team of over 800 colleagues, supporting projects from land acquisition to construction. You will assist in design development, preparing technical documentation, and advising clients. You’ll work on multiple projects, gaining support throughout your time as a graduate. Degree backgrounds considered: MEng Civil Engineering. Locations available: Newcastle, Guildford and Bristol.
- Communities and Mobility | WSP – Our Local Government team provide innovative solutions to the mobility needs of communities across the UK, increasing the quality, safety and accessibility of the transportation network and improving connectivity. Degree backgrounds considered: MEng Civil Engineering. Locations: Exeter and Gloucestershire.
- Building Structures | WSP – Our Building Structures team collaborate with leading architects and developers on award-winning projects. You’ll engage in structural design, coordination, and preparing reports for iconic UK projects. Degrees backgrounds considered: MEng Structural Engineering and MEng Civil & Structural Engineering. Locations available: Belfast & Basingstoke.
Graduate Development Programme: Our Graduates told us the best part of being on the Graduate Development Programme is the support for their own personal development and large network available to them. They have the chance to work on a wide variety of projects enabling them to work closely with other disciplines, allowing them to gain a better understanding of their role on projects and how this enhances the schemes they are involved in. As well as the large pool of experts to guide them throughout their journey.
You will have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. You’ll be looking to start work in September 2025. Have a passion for sustainable engineering solutions, an enthusiasm for creativity and a drive to solve problems. You’ll want to inspire us, sharing new ideas you have. You will be dealing with internal and external stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues and adapting to dynamic project environments.
Please be aware behavioural assessment results at WSP are valid for a period of 12 months. If you have completed an assessment within this timeframe and been unsuccessful, we will not be able to consider your application.
How long does the process take? You’ll receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application within 5 days of submission. After reviewing your application, if we feel your background and skills are suitable, you will be sent through to the second stage in the process which is an online behavioural assessment. If you are successful after completing the assessment, we will work hard to match you to the most suitable roles in our business. If you are selected for the final stage in the process, which is an interview, we will contact you to discuss the opportunity further.
