Your new role, what is involved? Our Surveying Advisory Business Unit is recruiting for a new Senior/Principal MEP Surveyor. The role can be based out of either of the following WSP offices: London or Manchester.
You will support the team in the delivery of technical advisory services, including technical due diligence reviews, asset condition surveys and lifecycle/maintenance assessments. You will provide independent engineering advice to lenders, investors, government departments and local authorities operating within the property and construction sectors. Depending on your experience, you may be tasked with providing day-to-day project management of Independent Certifier (IC) services on several projects. You will deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis in which the inputs and outputs are clear, reliable and well documented. You will be creating logical and innovative solutions to complement the delivery of the team’s work. You will ensure budgets are adhered to, and deadlines are met.
As a member of the team, you will provide technical expertise across the work streams covering asset surveying, independent certifier services, technical advisory, and technical due diligence. The role is principally to provide technical advisory services. This will span a variety of projects in sectors including Education, Healthcare and Defence, but with a view to grow into other forms of infrastructure.
You are a good fit if you have:
- BSc, BTEC, HND/HNC qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- MCIBSE, MIMechE, MIEE, MIET full professional registration or working towards.
- MEP experience within education, healthcare, defence, or operational infrastructure environments.
- Experience undertaking MEP asset condition surveys and preparing technical reports for operational assets.
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and commercially focused technical reports to a high professional standard.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams including building surveyors, quantity surveyors, fire engineers, and project managers.
- Experience supporting bids, proposals and business development activities would be advantageous.
- The ability to self‑perform, to maximise your contribution and achieve appropriate high‑quality and timely delivery of our services.
- A commitment to the achievement of team/business unit objectives and plans.
- Experience in PPP/PFI, technical due diligence, Independent Certifier services, asset management, lifecycle assessment, or investor advisory services would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of NEC, JCT and PPP/PFI contractual environments and ability to review contractor submissions, certification documentation, and commissioning records.
- Experience administering or supporting Independent Certifier, Employer's Agent or monitoring services during construction and operational phases desirable.
