WSP is looking for a Project Manager to join our industry‑leading Operations & Safety team within Intelligent Infrastructure. We provide technical professional services to transport clients throughout the UK and overseas. WSP’s Intelligent Infrastructure discipline works across a wide range of transport and mobility clients (and beyond). While the fundamental goals of the transport system remain unchanged, helping people and goods move efficiently, the drivers influencing the system continue to evolve. Priorities around carbon reduction (net zero), climate resilience, safety and security (zero harm), digitisation, changing customer expectations, and doing more with less (efficiency) are now front and centre. The Operations & Safety team provides strategy, systems, design, specification and operational monitoring support to a range of internal and external clients, and we require an experienced Project Manager with experience leading projects in this space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of project management services and bringing exemplar market leadership and knowledge to lead the delivery of projects on time, to the quality required, and within the allocated budget, including primary client interface.
  • Manage project budgets and finances, including invoicing, cash collection and forecasting on our Oracle ERP system.
  • Ensure the delivery of client outcomes, whilst meeting utilisation targets, including corrective action and regularly reviewing performance and outputs in conjunction with the Project Director.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, project teams, and internal staff at all levels.
  • Deliver reports, presentations, project documentation and project management documentation including project status reports, quality management plans and other financial control documents.
  • Direct the development and deployment of appropriate project control and management methodologies to support both proposals and project delivery.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Undergraduate Degree, or relevant experience.
  • Awareness of Project Management methodologies and relevant experience at various stages of the project lifecycle, to achieve successful delivery.
  • Relevant Project Management qualification (for example APMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or ITIL Foundation).
  • Experience managing finances, especially on Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other project team members.
  • Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines.
