We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven PFAS Lead to shape and grow our UK PFAS service offering. This role will sit within the Contaminated Land business and report directly to the Contaminated Land Service Lead, ensuring alignment with wider Ground & Water strategy and objectives. The primary focus of the role includes work winning, revenue growth, and market positioning, supported by strong technical leadership. You will lead the development of a best‑in‑class PFAS capability, securing major commissions across key sectors including energy, aviation, defence, and industrial infrastructure. Acting as a recognised subject matter expert, you will support clients in managing complex PFAS liabilities across the full project lifecycle, aligned with WSP’s established capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Originating, developing, and converting a strong pipeline of PFAS‑related opportunities, working closely with sector leads and key account teams to position WSP as the consultant of choice.
- Leading major bids and proposals, defining winning strategies, and translating technical excellence into compelling client solutions with clear accountability for revenue growth and work‑winning performance.
- Acting as the external face of WSP’s PFAS capability in the UK, building and maintaining senior client relationships and providing strategic advice on regulatory risk, liability management, and remediation approaches.
- Engaging with regulators and industry bodies, representing WSP through thought leadership, conferences, and technical publications.
- Providing technical leadership and oversight across complex PFAS projects, including site investigation, hydrogeological assessment, risk assessment, and remediation design, ensuring that all technical outputs are robust, defensible, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Defining and implementing the UK PFAS growth strategy, expanding WSP’s service offering and integrating with global PFAS expertise, driving innovation and establishing scalable, commercially efficient solutions.
- Building and leading a high‑performing team, supporting capability development, recruitment, and internal best practice, and aligning pipeline growth with technical delivery capacity.

- A confident and credible leader, capable of operating at senior client and regulator level, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, commercially focused solutions.
