Senior Arboricultural Consultant
, you'll join a collaborative and multidisciplinary team delivering innovative and commercially balanced arboricultural advice across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced arboricultural professional to take ownership of technical delivery, provide trusted advice to clients and project teams, and play a key role in developing the next generation of consultants.
Role
As a Senior Arboricultural Consultant, you'll lead the delivery of arboricultural services across a portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality technical outputs, effective project management and exceptional client service.
You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to major infrastructure and development projects, and support the growth and development of junior colleagues through mentoring and technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of BS5837 surveys and reporting.
- Prepare Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS), Tree Protection Plans (TPP) and technical reports.
- Manage survey logistics, programming, resourcing and quality assurance across project workstreams.
- Provide clear and practical arboricultural advice to design teams, supporting tree retention, mitigation strategies and construction feasibility.
- Support the delivery of arboricultural inputs for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
- Mentor apprentices, assistants and consultants through technical review, coaching and professional development support.
- Contribute to proposals, tenders and fee estimates, including scope definition, assumptions and exclusions.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, project managers, stakeholders and consultees.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience within arboricultural consultancy.
- Proven experience delivering BS5837 surveys and reports.
- A Level 3 Arboriculture qualification or higher.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements, site risk management and safe survey practices.
Desirable Requirements
- A Level 4 or Level 6 Arboriculture qualification, degree or equivalent related qualification.
- Professional membership such as MArbor A, MICFor, or progression towards chartership.
- Experience supporting DCO/NSIP projects, EIA reporting, major infrastructure, energy or public-sector frameworks.
- Arboricultural Clerk of Works experience.
