WSP UK is looking for an Associate or Associate Director level consultant with a background in utilities consultancy. The role involves coordinating and managing utilities risks, costs and programme across projects, providing technical utility advice, managing utility works from concept to design, and ensuring utilities are factored into development proposals and cost plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead a wide variety of utility projects from local schemes to national significance.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams in the UK, managing coordinated project delivery for utility infrastructure.
- Serve as an experienced senior point of contact for the Building Services team, clients and design teams on key projects.
- Drive business growth with existing clients and develop new client relationships.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Deliver high-level commercial awareness, project/programme management and efficient problem solving.
Qualifications
- Degree or similar equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record in a client‑facing role and management of a utility portfolio of works.
- Experience in planning, coordinating and managing utility disconnections, diversionary works and new supply infrastructure across the UK.
- Thorough understanding of Electricity, Gas, Water and Telecommunications networks for various development schemes.
- Experience with Multi‑Utility, ICP/IDNO and NAV opportunities and associated commercial risks and opportunities.
- Understanding of the relevant utility legislation for Electric, Water, Gas and Fibre operators.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects concurrently and organise time and resources effectively.
- Ability to communicate technical detail graphically, deliver reporting and engage effectively with clients and professionals.
- Work independently with minimal supervision on technical aspects or have specialist experience applicable to the role.
- Experience directing BIM teams (AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit, etc.) in producing quality project models and drawings.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
- Promote WSP’s capabilities and expertise in the region.
- Development and line management of junior staff.
