A little more about your role… WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Engineer to join the Roads team based in Glasgow. WSP are recruiting to add to the team working on the Performance Audit Group (PAG). PAG is an independent private sector organisation, employed by Transport Scotland, which monitors the performance of the Operating Companies. PAG audits, monitors and reports on the financial, technical and performance aspects of the Operating Companies to a plan agreed with Transport Scotland.
We are seeking someone to fulfil a PAG Site Technician vacancy, a role which is to carry out inspections, auditing, and monitoring in accordance with programmes agreed with the Employer. Key tasks include:
- Inspect, audit and monitor asset inventory collection and updating for a roads network.
- Inspect, audit, and monitor to assess the effectiveness and contractual compliance of Suppliers in respect of inspection regimes set out in Employer contracts.
- Issue notices based on site inspections and observations in accordance with Supplier contracts.
- Verify that Suppliers records are true and accurate and confirm that works have been carried out in accordance with Specifications and other contract documentation.
- Verify that quantities and values claimed by Suppliers are a true record.
- Contribute to reports required by the Employer.
- Be fully conversant with and understand the relevant parts of Supplier Contracts.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Technician with HNC/HND in civil engineering or equivalent degree; all with moderate experience OR an individual with comprehensive relevant experience.
- Specified level of experience of inspecting, monitoring and reporting on Supplier compliance with contracts, specifications and good practice associated with the construction, management and maintenance of roads and structures.
- Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance and construction works associated with the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network.
