A little more about your role… Our Development team specialises in providing full lifecycle sustainable development infrastructure solutions, from planning through to detailed design and construction. We provide advice to private and public sector clients on planning and design issues relating to Utilities Supplies and Diversions, Highways, Public Realm, Sewerage, SUDS, Building Drainage, Earthworks and Flood Protection for a wide range of projects and clients, which typically include Residential, Sports/ Leisure, Industrial/ Commercial, Educational, Defence and Healthcare Developments in the UK.
Your role in Utilities… The management of Utilities risk is of great importance to our clients. Issues such as capacity shortages, diversionary and protection works, and commercialisation opportunities require a particular skill set to manage. Your role as a Senior Member of the Utilities Team within Development will involve leading engagement with and advising clients on technical utilities matters and using your deep understanding of Utility constraints and opportunities in managing project teams within the UK and Internationally to find innovative technical solutions and develop designs for implementation. Works may cover the full project spectrum from Concept and Feasibility through to Detailed Design and you will lead on the masterplanning, coordination and design of Multi-Utility infrastructure and will be at the forefront of project and commercial management for Utility projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for…
- Flexible working out of our UK offices (base office flexible)
- Leading a wide variety of Utility projects from local schemes to class leading projects of national significance
- Leading and working within multidisciplinary teams in the UK and internationally and managing coordinated project delivery
- Providing an experienced senior point of contact for the Development team and clients on key projects
- Driving business growth with existing clients and developing new client relationships
- Working closely with a diverse range clients to help deliver complex and interesting schemes to the highest standards, budget and programme
- Mentoring and developing our growing team
- Providing the expected quality of service for our clients and upholding our professional reputation
- Delivering a high level of commercially awareness, project/programme management and efficient problem solving.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Chartered Engineer or open/working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Civil Engineering Degree, or similar equivalent qualification
- Experience delivering utility connections, diversions and utility infrastructure strategies for small, medium and large schemes in the UK.
- Rounded understanding of Electricity, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications networks, in relation to new development activities
- Experience of Multi-Utility / iDNO (independent Distribution Network Operators) / ICP (Independent Connection Provider) and commercial risk/opportunities
- Ability to develop utility demand calculations based on the needs of a development
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage and work on multiple projects concurrently and effectively organise your time and your project teams between them
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with co-professionals and deliver high quality reports
- Experience in directing BIM teams (AutoCAD / Civils 3D / Revit etc) in their production of quality project models and design outputs
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
