A Graduate Consultant will join the Rail team at WSP within a consultancy career in the rail sector. The role supports senior consultants in delivering projects while developing client management, analytical, and professional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of proposals to win new contracts.
  • Contribute to project delivery at all phases; manage time across several projects.
  • Ensure quality and delivery of work.
  • Collaborate with other consultants and clients, incorporating contributions into wider project outputs.
  • Develop client management techniques and soft skills through presentations, project management, and people management.

Qualifications

  • Graduated with at least a 2:1 in a master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Rail Systems or Systems Engineering.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills from an engineering background.
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and client‑focus skills.
  • Proactive, organised, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational/planning skills and ability to work in a consultancy environment.
