We are looking for a vibrant and engaged Law Graduate to join WSP Solicitors as a Trainee Solicitor (LPC/ SQE route). The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a combination of seats within the business, including a specialised longer seat. These will be Property Law (residential/commercial), Corporate/Commercial law, Wills/Probate Law and Family Law. You will receive regular coaching and reviews to help prepare you for your career as a Solicitor. Throughout your training there will be plenty of opportunities for you to participate with the firm and the local community at social and networking events as well as the charity work we undertake.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures, and Core Values, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Attending meetings with clients.
- Drafting documents and producing research.
- Involvement in Marketing and Business Development events and activities.
- Communicating promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
- Sustainably achieving financial objectives including time recording and billing.
- Work compliantly to regulatory internal quality standards.
- Completing legal tasks to progress matters as supervised by the Legal Practitioner.
- Financial tasks including drafting invoices and adding matter expenses.
- Maintaining your continuing professional development requirements and taking an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
- Conducting other reasonable tasks on request.
Your Experience
- At least one year’s work experience in a customer‑facing role, preferably within legal services.
- English & Maths GCSE (5 or higher), Qualifying Law Degree (2.2 or higher), LPC (pass or higher) or SQE 1 & 2.
- Ability to communicate very well in writing using correct grammar and plain English.
- IT literate.
- Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and a strong team player who is supportive, confident, approachable and genuine.
- An attitude focused on providing clients the best outcomes based on our “client charter”.
