Join WSP in the UK & Ireland as a Town Planner within our Infrastructure Planning team. We are an award‑winning consultancy that employs the largest number of chartered town planners in the UK, backed by recent recognitions such as RTPI’s Planning Consultancy of the Year. Our work spans early feasibility to the delivery of consents for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects across sectors such as energy, renewables, nuclear, net zero, water, rail, transportation and aviation.
You will collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, work with statutory bodies and stakeholders, and help secure approvals under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008, Transport and Works Act Order, and relevant UK and overseas legislation.
Responsibilities- Prepare Town & Country Planning Act applications for infrastructure projects across the UK.
- Provide consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs, etc.).
- Assist in delivering technical advice to project managers to support client requirements.
- Support liaison with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
- Engage with teams across a variety of disciplines, building positive relationships.
- Proactively develop your knowledge and skills to build the team’s internal knowledge base.
- Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
- Member of (or eligible for) the RTPI.
