WSP has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technical Director in our London office, focusing on the Data Centre sector with our Mission Critical Facilities team. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects within this fast‑paced sector. WSP is involved in numerous projects across the UK and EMEA, working with hyperscale, colocation providers, end users and enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day management, vision, values, and leadership of the electrical team.
- Develop client relationships and brand within the UK and EMEA.
- Consistently meet monthly and annual budgets at a team level, support MEP budget planning and continuously improve performance.
- Work with the director and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives in the team and across the wider business.
- Share knowledge and technical skills with colleagues worldwide.
- Drive profitable and sustainable work‑winning, maintain up‑to‑date forecasting for the team and provide input to the wider MEP service delivery.
- Oversee team performance including work pipeline, finance, and operational management.
- Build relationships with clients, developers, contractors and architects as the client’s key point of contact.
- Provide excellent client care and seek opportunities to grow additional business.
Qualifications
- Chartered or aspiring for chartership through CIBSE/IET Engineering Council.
- Profound understanding of electrical systems: power distribution, generation, critical backup, and energy management.
- Innovative problem‑solving and ability to implement solutions to complex electrical challenges.
- Leadership and team‑management skills; mentor and guide a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strategic vision to anticipate industry trends and align engineering initiatives with business goals.
- Project management experience overseeing timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies, industry standards, and business needs.
- Customer focus, ensuring systems meet or exceed client expectations.
