A Little More About Your Role

  • Partner with the WSP leadership teams to understand growth priorities and translate them into smart, future‑focused hiring plans.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end recruitment lifecycle, owning roles from initial briefing through to offer and onboarding, with a strong focus on quality and candidate experience.
  • Actively source, attract and engage engineers, environmental specialists and technical professionals from Assistant Engineer to Technical Director level, using LinkedIn Recruiter, market mapping, referrals and direct search.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for priority and hard‑to‑fill roles, ensuring we are well‑positioned ahead of future demand.
  • Represent the business as an ambassador, clearly articulating career paths, project impact and our employee value proposition.
  • Use data, insight and market intelligence to advise hiring managers, challenge thinking where needed and improve how we attract talent over time.
  • Ensure recruitment activity is delivered efficiently using our recruitment system Oracle, with administration handled as part of a smooth, professional process rather than the focus of the role.

What We Would Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • Significant recruitment experience within Transport, Rail, Road, Water, Energy or Environmental sectors.
  • Experience working in‑house is preferred, though agency recruiters with relevant sector exposure and a consultative approach are very welcome.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, confident influencing hiring managers and building trusted relationships.
  • Expert using LinkedIn Recruiter with experience of ERP systems – Oracle preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, advise and present ideas clearly.
  • Highly organised, delivery‑focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced growth environment.
  • Strong systems and digital sourcing capability, with an interest in continuous improvement.
