Overview
Speculative Development/Transport Planners North β Leeds, England, United Kingdom. This role is with WSP in the UK & Ireland and sits in the Development team across the North. You will contribute to a range of transport planning projects within development studies, supporting private sector development proposals through the planning process and public sector transport planning initiatives. The position is for a Transport Planner/Development Planner (dependent upon experience).
Responsibilities
- Lead technical work on Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategies, parking strategies, sustainable transport and active travel provision, and work with guidance such as NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets.
- Prepare traffic flow information for use in a Transport Assessment and Environmental Statement.
- Set up and run junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, and understand inputs, outputs and scenario testing.
- Project management on small to medium scale projects (budget planning, resource planning, invoicing).
- Carry out and/or supervise conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals).
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead discussions with Clients, project teams, co-professionals and other project stakeholders.
- Share knowledge and mentor others, particularly Early Career Professional colleagues, on your technical areas.
- Proficiency with day-to-day software packages such as Excel and Word.
- Develop a growing professional network of co-professionals and clients.
- You will be an experienced Transport Planner with significant knowledge and hands-on post graduate experience; ideally you will have or be pursuing Chartered status in a transport-related discipline.
What we will be looking for
