Responsibilities
- Lead on bridge maintenance designs, including scheme investigations, feasibility studies, detailed design, tender input, site inspections, construction supervision and assessment.
- Inspection of structures to DMRB and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
- Provide technical input to agree project briefs, proposals, and deliverables with Project Managers.
- Check, certify (AIPs) and authorize issues of designs, documents, and reports.
- Manage the delivery of technical outputs of project teams.
- Demonstrate compliance with Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities.
- Be an active and collaborative team member, and work with other disciplines, including the Client team.
- Contribute to technical excellence and innovation within the team.
- Potential for line management and mentoring opportunities.
Your team
You will be an integral part of a highly collaborative team in Shropshire of approximately 75 people, delivering a broad range of projects and supporting major projects and strategic planning for the client. Offices are in Shrewsbury with flexible working options, including home and office time.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
- Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Full Member of a relevant professional body (CEng or IEng) or evidence for future submission.
- Experience as a Structural Engineer focusing on bridges and highways structures.
- Evidence of independently delivering complex projects.
- Commitment to working collaboratively and innovatively.
