Overview
We are seeking a C&I Engineer to join our Low Carbon Team, contributing to the development of designs on a wide range of Energy projects, including energy from waste plants, industrial facilities and carbon capture schemes. The role involves leading a team of electrical, instrumentation and control engineers within a large engineering group.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative C&I designs with the wider project team.
- Deliver projects in various stages of maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design.
- Prepare and develop C&I deliverables such as design basis philosophies, system specifications, architecture diagrams, datasheets, instrument schedules, instrument index, block diagrams, control room layouts, cable schedules, cable block diagrams and MTOs.
- Work with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designs.
- Develop proposals and bids for the EC&I discipline and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals.
- Provide technical leadership and governance.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
- Degree in a relevant Engineering subject with post-graduate experience in C&I design.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
- The ability and desire to assume a lead role in the development of C&I deliverables.
- Knowledge of design and construction of power and energy projects.
- Proven understanding of the design process and working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts, and experience in producing calculations.
- Experience of working with clients and contractors with a diverse range of objectives in achieving a technical solution.
