Quality Surveillance Engineer (Energy) – WSP in the UK & Ireland

Join a leading global engineering and professional services firm delivering quality surveillance for the Energy sector. WSP is an ISO 17020 “Type C” Inspection Body with a 40-year history of quality consultancy, audit, advisory services, and manufacturing assurance across Energy, Industrial and Transportation sectors.

In This Role

  • Undertake inspection and assurance activities for mechanical and/or electrical equipment during manufacture.
  • Carry out audits of suppliers and processes.
  • Assist with the review, mark‑up and approval of inspection and test plans and manufacturing programmes.
  • Ensure assignment activities are executed in compliance with client requirements, relevant contractual specifications and national/international standards.
  • Support Project Managers with technical information supporting the inspection and testing activities.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • A relevant background in engineering is desirable (HND, BEng, BSc or equivalent).
  • Chartered or Incorporated Quality Engineer or Engineering professional.
  • CQI diploma in Quality Management, or equivalent qualification.
  • IRCA registered Lead Auditor would be desirable; external training can be provided.
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering and quality assurance/quality systems engineering, with specialist knowledge in the inspection of PSSR, Rotating Plant, Welding/Fabrication, NDT, Power Transformers, Turbo Generators, Switchgear, Cables AC/DC and Motors.

Other Attributes

Our Quality Surveillance Engineers must be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to inspection and general problem solving, and be confident in challenging manufacturers, clients, contract partners or client representatives where non‑compliance to project specifications may be identified. Detailed reporting is a large part of day‑to‑day activities, and candidates should be computer literate and capable of producing coherent, technically fulfilled reports.
