A Little More About Your Role… The WSP Defence & Security team is seeking a Project Manager to be part of a rapidly growing team, working on a variety of large-scale projects. This role will offer excellent opportunities for career development.

You will have extensive experience managing new build and retrofit commercial properties through RIBA Stages 1-7 and a thorough understanding of the NEC4 contract. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure successful project delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards.

You will:

  • Act as the primary contact for the client, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project.
  • Compile monthly project reports and facilitate regular meetings, presentations, and progress updates.
  • Manage contracts in accordance with NEC3 & NEC4 requirements, including handling Compensation Events, early warnings, and communications.
  • Oversee project budgets, including estimation, tracking, and reporting, and manage changes and delays effectively.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Manage project programmes using MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software, and develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure projects adhere to NEC4 contracts and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and manage resources including subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Project Director, Design Manager, and framework team to align project goals and delivery.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…

  • Experience managing NEC3/4 contracts. Accreditation is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing commercial property projects valued between £10m - £80m+ for public sector clients.
  • Ability to manage successful workstreams within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of systems like Oracle Cloud, CEMAR, and Sypro is advantageous.
  • A relevant engineering or construction management degree.
  • Membership of a professional engineering or project management institution.
  • Certifications such as APM, MSP, PMI, PRINCE2, or Six Sigma are beneficial.
  • Security Clearance or the ability to attain it.
