A Little More About Your Role
We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join our WSP Local Government team. The role can be based from our offices in Leeds or Stockton, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home‑ and in‑office working. This is a varied role with your core responsibilities being:
- Managing the delivery of structures and highways related projects.
- Managing resources providing scheme investigation, feasibility studies, preliminary/detailed design, tender documents, site inspections, data collection and analysis, and works/construction inspection and supervision.
- Preparing progress reports and attending client project review meetings.
- Engaging with a wide range of project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Applying your working knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities.
- Contributing to project management excellence and innovation within the team.
- Complying with ISO standards, client processes and procedures and WSP’s business management system.
Your Team
You will be an integral part of our high performing project management teams in Leeds and Northallerton. Our teams are friendly, collaborative and our ethos is based on trust, integrity and fairness. Both teams are fundamental to our delivery of projects for both private sector and Local Authority clients, including our key local client, Leeds City Council, who we have been in partnership with for over 20 years. You will have the fantastic opportunity to support our project managers delivering a wide range of interesting and significant projects - from schemes, such as the award‑winning Regent Street Flyover through to a diverse range of bridge refurbishment and maintenance improvements as well as feasibility studies and bridge inspection and assessment work throughout the UK.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
- Relevant experience in project management.
- APM or PRINCE professional qualifications would be desirable.
- Experience of commercial and financial project management.
- Experience in managing a range of project management activities, systems and processes.
- Proficient in client and project stakeholder engagement.
- Working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Welfare.
- Working knowledge of CDM.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent communication skills.
