Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help shape and grow our acoustics presence in the Midlands, with opportunities to support the growth of the team and their own career from our Birmingham office. We are seeking an experienced Principal / Associate in Birmingham to lead and deliver our flagship and technically complex projects which range from those of national significance to those more locally focused. We provide the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, sports and leisure, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

Leading by example by placing people and projects at the forefront of our working, including mentoring junior staff, contributing to the team’s technical advancements and taking a client-centric approach. Promoting the WSP culture by taking a dynamic and collaborative approach to problem solving and delivering client-focused global best practice with an emphasis on selling value, not time.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and grow our acoustics presence in the Midlands and support the growth of the team and the career of the successful candidate.
  • Lead and deliver flagship, technically complex projects of national or local significance across a range of sectors.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the team’s technical advancements.
  • Maintain a client-centric approach, delivering client-focused solutions and promoting WSP culture within the team.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification and corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA / FIOA).
  • Demonstrable experience and thorough understanding of environmental and/or building acoustics.
  • Excellent technical, project management, presentation, report writing, commercial, health and safety, communication and personal organisation skills.
  • A strong client care ethos, acting as a trusted adviser with a commercial mindset focused on work-winning, repeat business and sustainable growth across key clients and markets.
  • An enthusiastic, energetic outlook, willingness to learn, and a social and team-spirited attitude.
