Principal / Associate Civil Engineer – Wastewater Modeller
We are looking for a Principal or Associate Engineer to support the team leaders in managing project delivery, including supervision of tasks and review of deliverables. The role will enable you to develop and apply your technical skills, contributing to high quality and efficient delivery.
You will be part of an award-winning water team within a network of 350 professionals across the UK, supported by our Global Water Team. There is opportunity for progression by combining technical and leadership abilities.
What you will do
- Develop the urban drainage modelling capability in the team and provide training to junior members
- Support the team lead in managing local technical delivery
- Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support wastewater projects
- Exercise independent engineering judgement and provide innovative solutions
- Develop and maintain excellent client relationships and coordinate project meetings
- Participate in business development and proposal preparation
- Promote the WSP brand through industry forums and conferences
- Contribute to learning through knowledge sharing
What we will be looking for
- A relevant degree and chartered status, or progression toward ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM
- Experience of wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check outputs
- Knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems, and relevant British Standards
- Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills
