This exciting opportunity is a pivotal portfolio leadership role within our Water Advisory team. As Portfolio Director, you will help shape the success of a growing high-impact portfolio, overseeing opportunities and projects owned by Water Advisory, and partnering with other disciplines. You will play a key role in linking work winning, project delivery, and leadership, bringing clarity, consistency, and confidence to opportunities and project execution.
In this role, you will strengthen opportunity triage and governance, support multidisciplinary bid teams, monitor performance across live projects, and step in early where delivery or commercial risks arise. You will also create a transparent view of the portfolio through clear reporting, leadership updates, and high-quality case studies. Alongside portfolio responsibilities, you may also provide project management or project director leadership on selected commissions, staying close to delivery while influencing the wider service line direction.
You will join our Water Advisory team within Sustainable Water Management and report directly to the Service Line Director. This role works closely with technical leads, Project Managers, Project Directors, Operations, Commercial teams, and wider business leadership.
Key Qualifications
- Experience leading or overseeing a portfolio of opportunities and projects in a consultancy, infrastructure, or professional services environment.
- Strong track record in opportunity shaping, governance, and bid support, with multidisciplinary team coordination.
- Experience monitoring project performance across delivery, budget, margin, and commercial outcomes, with judgement to intervene early on risks.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with technical, operational, commercial, and leadership stakeholders.
- Experience providing project management or project director leadership when required.
- Strong communication skills for briefings, updates, and portfolio insights to support decision making.
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style, focused on quality outcomes for clients, teams, and the wider business.
