We are looking to recruit an Assistant Travel Plan Coordinator to join our Transport and Travel Planning team in Norwich. In this role you will be based in the heart of the vibrant and historic city of Norwich, working in partnership with Norfolk County Council. The role sits within our AtoBetter team, a collaboration between WSP and Norfolk County Council, which delivers a residential travel planning project across Norfolk. The project aims to empower communities to make informed, sustainable travel choices that reduce reliance on private car travel and promote healthier, greener and more active lifestyles. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of tasks, develop innovative ideas, and make a real impact. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the team, work independently while engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, delivery partners, and residents to achieve key project objectives such as facilitating opportunities for active, healthy, and accessible travel and promoting sustainable modes of travel.
Responsibilities
- Co‑developing and implementing intervention delivery plans with the project team.
- Writing, delivering, and monitoring Residential Travel Plans across Norfolk on behalf of Norfolk County Council and housing developer clients.
- Managing projects from concept to delivery, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder reporting.
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting travel behaviour data to inform decisions and evaluate intervention success.
- Preparing reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting public engagement events and sustainable travel interventions, including planning, team coordination, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision‑making.
- Ability to contribute to a variety of tasks (including technical, commercial and operational inputs) and support the delivery of high‑quality outputs in line with client requirements.
- Ability to support the delivery of a portfolio of residential travel plans with a focus on sustainable travel, interventions assessment and monitoring.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, confident in public‑facing roles and event delivery.
- Proven ability in event planning, organization and coordination of activities and monitoring outputs.
- Project tasks management skills, including workload prioritisation and delivery against deadlines.
- Collaborative office work experience and ability to use Microsoft Office packages; working as part of a team, ability to work collaboratively and solutions‑driven.
