WSP is looking for a consultant to support our Circular Economy & Waste Advisory team, providing technical procurement advisory services across waste infrastructure projects, leading bids, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist project delivery teams in technical procurement advisory.
- Prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.
- Provide line management/mentoring to junior staff.
- Manage projects ensuring on‐time, within‐budget delivery and high client satisfaction.
- Draft reports, tender specifications, contracts, and business cases.
- Build and maintain client relationships to grow the business pipeline.
Projects Expected
- Waste management procurement for infrastructure and environmental services.
- Tender development, bidder evaluation, and negotiation.
- Business case development for new service delivery models.
- Environmental service reviews to identify savings.
Qualifications
- First degree in science, environment or engineering.
- Experience in environmental and waste procurement for local authorities.
- Strong background drafting technical specifications, performance frameworks, tenders, pricing schedules, payment mechanisms.
- Experience in competitive dialogues or procurement procedures.
- Knowledge of UK waste legislation and policy.
- Experience working with council officers.
- Excellent written & verbal communication; senior stakeholder engagement.
- Strong time‐management, ability to deliver under tight timelines.
