WSP is looking for a consultant to support our Circular Economy & Waste Advisory team, providing technical procurement advisory services across waste infrastructure projects, leading bids, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist project delivery teams in technical procurement advisory.
  • Prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.
  • Provide line management/mentoring to junior staff.
  • Manage projects ensuring on‐time, within‐budget delivery and high client satisfaction.
  • Draft reports, tender specifications, contracts, and business cases.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to grow the business pipeline.

Projects Expected

  • Waste management procurement for infrastructure and environmental services.
  • Tender development, bidder evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Business case development for new service delivery models.
  • Environmental service reviews to identify savings.

Qualifications

  • First degree in science, environment or engineering.
  • Experience in environmental and waste procurement for local authorities.
  • Strong background drafting technical specifications, performance frameworks, tenders, pricing schedules, payment mechanisms.
  • Experience in competitive dialogues or procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of UK waste legislation and policy.
  • Experience working with council officers.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication; senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong time‐management, ability to deliver under tight timelines.
