A Little More About Your Role

As a Principal Fire Engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once – from a university in Scotland to a high‑rise residential tower in London – all focused on enabling innovative architectural design without compromising building fire safety. You’ll run through design information, liaise with WSP disciplines such as facades, acoustics and structures, present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes that could increase building safety. In addition to day‑to‑day work, we will assist the successful candidate toward professional registration via IFE and other professional organisations.

Qualifications

  • Technical report writing and team‑specific technical skills
  • Project management (introduction and advanced)
  • Influential communications and commercial concepts
  • Collaborative team challenge and continuous improvement

Required:

  • BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry
  • Role can be based from any UK major office
