We collaborate on Rail, Sports, Aviation, Cultural, High‑Rise Buildings, Major Event Planning, Masterplanning and many other sectors. We need intelligent consultants who can think in new ways, try new things and deliver outstanding service for our clients.
Role Overview
- Undertake hands‑on pedestrian modelling and supervise junior staff.
- Attend and sometimes present at project meetings to stakeholders and clients.
- Interface proactively with other disciplines to obtain design and operational inputs and provide passenger flow spatial requirements.
- Input into and manage the scope and programme for smaller projects, monitoring financials and progress, or parts of larger projects under a Project Manager/Director.
- Depending on experience and grade, manage technical task delegation, reviews, approvals and reports.
- Projects span Rail and other sectors (Sports, Cultural, High‑Rise) according to the team’s pipeline.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent pedestrian modelling skills (Bentley Legion, PTV VisWalk, MassMotion or CAST).
- Optional skills: Pathfinder, VISSIM, S‑Paramics, AIMSUM, LINSIG, TRANSYT, ArcGIS, Power BI, coding in any language.
- Experience delivering pedestrian modelling projects that meet client goals and objectives.
- For senior candidates: project management experience (scoping, estimating, budgeting and ensuring on‑time delivery).
- Undergraduate degree in a numerate, transport or planning discipline (e.g., geography).
- Knowledge of pedestrian planning guidance (LUL Station Planning, The Green Guide, Network Rail Capacity Planning Manual) and static capacity assessment techniques (PCL).
- Strong communication skills for presenting to non‑technical audiences via reports, meetings and formal presentations.
- Analytical and critical thinking ability.
- Understanding of commercial project delivery (H&S, programmes, risks, resourcing, budgets).
- Additional transport planning experience (e.g., Development Planning, Airports, Sports/Event Management) is beneficial.
