The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
WSP has a large, experienced Ecology and Arboriculture team involved in a diverse range of projects across the UK for private and public sector clients. You will be involved with several projects concurrently and be a proactive member of the team. You will work with GIS/CAD capabilities (not required but advantageous) and may work with field data capture devices such as tablets. The Arboriculture and Forestry team is spread across the UK, offering some location flexibility.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Principal and Senior Consultant
- Site-based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections and monitoring in relation to BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments
- Collation and interpretation of arboricultural information from desk studies
- Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies, input into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements
- Liaise with the design team to develop mitigation solutions
- Data analysis and project management
- Support senior and junior team members
- Work on NSIP / DCO projects preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, inputting into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements
- Demonstrate the ability to manage tight deadlines, deliver high-quality work to agreed standards
- Project pricing for small sites
- Actively participate in recruitment when asked
- Mentor and develop junior team members
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
- Enthusiasm for arboriculture and willingness to learn
- Minimum a Level 3 qualification in arboriculture or a related field
- Professional Tree Inspectors (PTI) certificate
- Experience as an arboriculture consultant and/or local authority tree officer or similar
- Experience in arboriculture surveys using digital data capture
- Experience in producing high-quality technical arboriculture reports for planning applications
- Ability to work in a pragmatic team of arboricultural, landscape and environmental professionals
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and arboricultural survey methodologies
- Willingness to travel and work away from home within the UK regularly
- Desire to develop core arboriculture and consultancy skills
- Positive health and safety approach and understanding of workplace safety
- Professional conduct at all times
