WSP Land team is looking for an Assistant Land Consultant to support infrastructure development across the UK and Ireland. The role involves working with land referencing, landowner engagement, and property services on major projects.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake land referencing activities, including land registry searches, desktop research, questionnaire analysis and archival investigations to identify legal land interests and rights.
  • Accurate data entry and secure management of land and landowner information and consultation records in databases and GIS.
  • Conduct site visits to landowners to confirm ownership details and agree access for surveys.
  • Support the Land team in securing and acquiring appropriate land rights and negotiating Heads of Terms.
  • Assist in preparing orders and relevant statutory processes to acquire land.
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external project meetings.
  • Participate in the CPD‑accredited Land Academy.
  • Travel within the UK and Ireland; possible travel to WSP’s Global Capability Centre in India.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Geography, Land/Estate Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with databases and managing information with attention to detail.
  • Experience using GIS mapping.
  • Experience interacting with landowners and the public.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of urban and rural environments and farming practices is desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various sites.
