We are seeking a Senior Ecology Coordinator to join our Team. The role involves working closely with interdisciplinary specialists including biodiversity net gain, natural capital, arboriculture, landscape architecture, hydrology, historic environment, and geotechnical experts.
Responsibilities
- Overall resource planning – fortnightly communication with ecology PMs on key deadlines, survey resourcing, maintaining project programmes and managing project budgets, managing land access processes.
- Contributing to bids and tenders for new work alongside other Team Members.
- Annual checks and renewal of subconsultants; preparation of subconsultant contracts and raising purchase orders.
- Identifying skills and resource gaps, considering outsourcing and training/upskilling requirements, or recruitment opportunities.
- Assisting with and helping facilitate risk assessments and method statements.
- Nurturing an enthusiastic, supportive, productive and fun working environment.
- Supporting on project communications with internal and external clients.
- Managing projects via Horizon: project reviews monthly, associated budget checks, amendments and uplifts, invoicing, scope creep and compensation events.
- Bidding feedback and client liaison.
- Establishing and maintaining client relationships.
- Participating in external and internal stakeholder engagement for project delivery and business development.
- Reviewing client deliverables and quality management across all aspects of project delivery.
- Providing solutions to client business challenges and improving performance through analysis of existing organisational problems and development of improvement plans.
- Facilitating implementation of business recommendations in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and change management.
Qualifications
- Appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline.
- Experience as an ecologist (or working within another technical environmental discipline) wishing to develop in an office-based project management and coordination direction.
- Highly organised and able to produce project programmes.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of contract administration.
- Solution-focused and proactive communicator.
