Within WSP's Rail business, the Stations team is seeking a Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead teams delivering mechanical building services designs for Railway Stations and other Railway Buildings across the UK and globally. The role encompasses technical delivery, work winning, and client engagement, offering excellent career growth opportunities and involvement in prestigious Rail Stations Projects.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Producing and supervising high-quality, industry-leading building designs.
- Contributing to WSP's and our client's net zero carbon commitments through sustainable, low-carbon design.
- Sharing knowledge and technical skills within the global WSP community.
- Using initiative and specialist experience to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
- Supervising detailed designs and mentoring team members.
- Interpreting client specifications to develop appropriate designs.
- Designing pipework systems, including heating, cooling, and water systems.
- Designing ventilation systems and selecting appropriate plant and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Part L, and sustainable design standards.
You will be involved from early concept to project handover, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge and skills within a supportive culture.
About Your Team
Collaborate with a diverse team of over 70 engineers across mechanical, electrical, and Public Health disciplines. Engage in projects across the design lifecycle, working with clients like Network Rail, HS2, TfL, and private developers. Reporting to a senior team member, you will work on challenging multi-disciplinary Rail stations projects. Our offices provide a flexible, health-focused environment with modern facilities.
