A Little More About Your Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Arboricultural Consultant to join our team in the south or east of England. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Principal Consultant and mentor junior team members alongside your day‑to‑day role as a senior consultant managing projects and site surveying. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of arboricultural services across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Principal Consultant
- Site based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections and monitoring in relation to BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments.
- Collation and interpretation of arboricultural information from desk studies.
- Working on NSIP / DCO projects preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, inputting into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, developing their skills as consultants and fostering their professional development.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices as part of a Clerk of Works / Supervisor role.
- Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and attending client meetings.
- Liaising with design team developing mitigation solutions.
- Data analysis and project management.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, work to agreed standards and deliver high quality work.
- Small to medium scale project pricing at all levels.
- Internal and external networking.
- Contributes to the strategic development of the team.
- Actively participates in recruitment.
- Ability to manage a survey team of consultants.
- Desire to work with junior team members to encourage their career development.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
- Minimum of a Level 4 qualification in arboriculture or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience in arboriculture, with a strong understanding of tree management and assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using arboricultural software and tools including Treeplotter, AutoCAD, Word.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
