The Offshore Wind Engineering Consultant is a crucial role within the Energy business with a clear focus on driving success across offshore wind projects and growth across the business in either new or existing areas. The role will be varied and will require someone who is prepared to be engaged at all levels and have the flexibility and ability to be an ambassador for the offshore wind team whilst also supporting the development and delivery of the pipeline. This role requires an understanding of offshore wind, its components and associated technology, a consultancy and engineering mindset, strong leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage small projects and stakeholders. The focus of the role will be on technical due diligence and technical advisory, collaborating with internal teams.
You Will Be Working As Part Of The Offshore Wind Team Within The Energy Group And Will Have a Balanced Approach To Project Leadership:
- Lead and manage offshore wind consultancy projects ensuring they meet technical, financial, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring their needs are met.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the offshore wind sector, contributing to the growth of the consultancy and engineering functions.
- Have a good level of industry technical knowledge and associated challenges across offshore wind project development from advisory to operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and environmental teams.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate:
- Considerable experience in the renewable energy sector, with significant experience in offshore wind projects, preferably with an established consultancy.
- Track record of offering technical consultancy services in offshore wind, including feasibility analysis, site selection, supply chain studies, technology assessments, wind farm design, conceptual design, energy yield assessments, business case analysis, DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX estimates, technical due diligence or lenders technical advisory.
- Knowledge of offshore wind industry standards.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Professional certifications with a relevant industry body.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients, suppliers and industry.
- An established network in the offshore wind industry.
- Accomplished people management skills particularly coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in budget management and reporting.
- Ability to travel, including possible international travel.
