Contextual Overview
WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Land and Consents Consultants across all experience levels to join their multidisciplinary infrastructure team. The role focuses on land acquisition, compulsory purchase, landowner engagement, and securing statutory consents for high-profile national infrastructure projects in sectors including rail, energy, and aviation.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Proven track record in delivering land and property-related services.
- Robust knowledge of UK landownership, occupation, and relevant legal processes (e.g., DCO, CPO, TCPA, TWAO).
- Experience in negotiating Heads of Terms and managing compensation claims.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence is mandatory.
- Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Negotiating access to and acquisition of land for strategic infrastructure projects.
- Drafting and preparing consent documentation and securing land rights.
- Managing and settling compensation claims (voluntary and compulsory).
- Liaising with landowners, legal representatives, planning authorities, and contractors.
- Providing strategic land advice and supporting the development of early-career professionals.
