WSP is seeking a Technical Director to lead fire safety projects across the UK, from university campuses in Scotland to high‑rise residential towers in London. The role involves analysing design information, liaising with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures, and presenting designs to local authorities and fire service representatives. You will help the design team understand how changes can improve building safety while meeting client and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret project design data.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to authorities and fire services.
- Advise on design modifications to enhance fire safety.
- Update teams on evolving standards and client requirements.
Qualifications
- A BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in the fire engineering consulting industry.
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Based at any of our UK major offices.
