WSP is part of a collaborative partnership with Balfour Beatty Living Places in East Sussex, delivering highways and infrastructure services to East Sussex County Council. The commission began in May 2023. To support a long‐term relationship and increase resilience, we are appointing a Senior Project Manager to lead major projects across the county, working with resources from WSP teams nationwide.
Location & Working Arrangements
Based at the Ringmer Depot near Lewes. Hybrid model: visible in the offices near Lewes 2–3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the project management process and mentor junior team members.
- Coordinate multi‐disciplinary inputs across projects.
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Manage resources effectively, including remote teams.
- Deliver compliant designs on time and within budget, meeting H&S, CDM, QA and technical standards.
- Collaborate with other WSP teams to leverage additional resources.
- Manage project fees and commercial positions.
- Ensure timely, budget‐conscious, high‐quality delivery.
- Support the growth of the Project Management team in East Sussex.
- Implement stakeholder management plans.
- Oversee invoicing and cash collection in line with business procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in project management, business administration and financial planning within engineering consultancy or professional services.
- Familiarity with project management systems and ERP.
- Line‐management experience and team leadership.
- Strong commercial and financial project‐management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC 4 (qualification desirable).
- Financial and commercial awareness in resource and project management.
