We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join our Passenger Transit Group within the Transport Planning & Mobility team working across the UK. The role is advertised in our Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in‑office and home work.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to a variety of projects and proposals (both technical and commercial inputs) and delivering high‑quality outputs in line with client requirements.
- Bringing your passion and knowledge of passenger transit to deliver high‑quality and effective outcomes for our clients.
- Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, collaborating with other WSP service lines to deliver large multi‑disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
- Playing a supporting role in securing and delivering work for our large local client portfolio.
- Contributing to the financial performance of your projects and the commercial performance of our team.
- Making an active contribution to WSP's four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise).
Qualifications
- Prior experience in passenger transit and mobility planning and design, and transport data analysis.
- A demonstrable understanding of the regulatory and legislative environment in which passenger transit services are delivered.
- Excellent report‑writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Experience working with passenger transit clients.
- Understanding of project‑management skills developed across a range of transport and multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Creative, innovative mindset, lateral thinker.
