We are delivering some of the world’s most important projects to support the Net Zero transition, from conventional Thermal Generation plant to innovative low carbon energy and fuels projects. The Major Projects team leads those projects at all stages of the project lifecycle where stewardship from early client engagement through to delivery and handover helps build long‑term client relationships. The ability to pick up and manage a portfolio of projects and activities at any stage is therefore a key aspect of the role. This also allows our project managers to grow as well as deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients alongside our engineering and operational teams.

  • Ensure projects deliver expected operational targets and support the delivery of the Energy Transition team’s P&L.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with corporate governance requirements, liaising with operations and commercial teams to ensure best practice.
  • Ensure competent technical and commercial resources are secured for projects.

Our Team

Our team’s expertise covers all Energy Transition generation and conversion technologies including power generation, novel first‑of‑a‑kind concepts and other low‑ or zero‑carbon technology. Working together with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors and OEM’s we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations. Our teams are tactically placed in the UK, India, Ireland and wider Europe. We work internationally with clients and other Energy sector teams in North America, Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The Energy Transition team provides services to clients from inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning – an approach that supports our clients over the entire lifecycle of a project.

What We Will Be Looking For

  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) in relevant engineering subject supported with significant postgraduate experience in engineering project management, design and/or operation, maintenance and testing.
  • Chartered Engineer and a member of a relevant engineering institute.
  • Significant experience of leading multi‑disciplinary consultancy teams in the convention and renewable energy sector.
  • Outstanding client focus and a commitment to problem solving in a collaborative way.
  • Knowledge of the design and construction of power and energy projects, particularly relating to thermal generation (CCGT, OCGT and reciprocating engines).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and work with people at all levels of an organisation.
