We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior or Principal Hydrologist to join our dynamic Sustainable Water Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to high-profile Water Industry Natural Environment Programme (WINEP) and Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to WINEP investigations and WRMP inputs for AMP8 cycles.
- Develop rainfall-runoff models and apply model calibration techniques.
- Apply understanding of wider hydrology approaches for water resources applications in England and Wales.
- Familiarity with demand management and water resources modelling approaches.
- Understand UK water resources management regulations including the Water Resources Planning Guidelines and WINEP guidance such as Preventing Deterioration and Environmental Destination.
- Assess climate change resilience and produce high-quality client and stakeholder/regulator facing deliverables.
- Possess programming experience (e.g., Python and/or R) and interest in developing these skills.
- Communicate effectively and write high-quality concise reports; work collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines.
Qualifications
- A water-focused MSc (e.g., hydrology & water resources, sustainable water management) and BSc in related subject (e.g., physical geography, earth sciences, geology, civil engineering).
- Experience in or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
