We are seeking a Senior Consultant to support the delivery of Construction Design and Management (CDM) and wider construction safety services across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role is suited to an experienced CDM professional who is confident operating within design and delivery teams, providing clear, pragmatic advice and supporting clients in meeting their statutory responsibilities. You will play a key role in embedding effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle, particularly across RIBA Stages 2–5.
Typical Week
- Support delivery of CDM Principal Designer duties in line with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- Contribute to design risk management processes, including hazard identification, risk reduction and coordination of design risk information
- Attend and contribute to design team meetings, risk workshops and project reviews
- Review drawings, specifications and design information to identify and challenge health and safety risks
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of key CDM documentation, including:
- Pre‑Construction Information (PCI)
- Design Risk Registers / Hazard Logs
- Health and Safety Files (HSF)
- Provide clear and practical advice to clients and project teams on CDM compliance and duties
- Support Building Safety Act Principal Designer duties where required
- Manage your own project tasks and deliverables to agreed time, cost and quality expectations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into design and delivery

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience working within a CDM / construction safety role
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
- Practical experience contributing to Principal Designer duties
- Understanding of design processes and RIBA stages, particularly Stages 3–5
- Ability to review and interpret technical design information (drawings, specs, models)
- Experience supporting risk management through hazard identification and mitigation
- Good communication skills with confidence to engage in meetings with designers and contractors
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
