A Little More About Your Role – The role sits within the Management Services team and will report to the Financial Controller (FC). Primary responsibilities include the P&L management of a corporate function (e.g., HR, IT) supporting functional leaders in the financial aspects of running their service for the UK region.
Typical Month:
- Ownership of multiple Regional Profit Centre level management reporting and analysis.
- Ensure the timely and accurate accounting of financial data to facilitate decision making.
- Take steps to make corrections as required – including period-end close activities, journal entries and balance sheet substantiation.
- Annual budgeting & forecasting in accordance with strategy & business plans for regionally held budgets only.
- Ensuring variance between budgets, forecasts and actual results is understood, clearly explained and necessary actions are implemented; communicate findings to senior management with recommendations as appropriate.
- Contribute to the production of monthly consolidated P&L analysis reports.
- Assist in the set up and maintenance of indirect projects and tasks on the Oracle system.
- Assist in other ad-hoc reporting requirements as needed by functions or senior management teams.
Qualifications:
- Qualified or part-qualified on an accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
- Good understanding of P&L management.
- Strong communication skills; ability to synthesize complex data into clear business narratives.
- Experience of working within a team.
- Experience within functional specialism.
