Responsibilities

  • As a Project Controls professional you’ll face a wide range of technical, commercial, people and other challenges across complex railway and infrastructure projects from initial feasibility through to delivery and operation.
  • Supporting the Project Controls function on various projects to align with:
  • Schedule Management
  • Cost Management
  • Change Management
  • Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Supporting engagement with the supply base on projects and maintaining processes that deliver:
    • Appropriate integration of supplier information
    • Appropriate measurement of suppliers’ progress
    • Timely supply of cost, progress and programming information
  • Provision of technical support and problem solving across the PM&C portfolio with respect to planning and controls.
  • Ensuring best practice project administration is deployed across the PM&C portfolio which delivers close project control and accurate project forecasting.
  • Supporting the optimisation of resource planning to deliver project commitments and technical staff utilisation.
  • You’ll understand the importance of implementing robust systems and processes to ensure that projects deliver value for money in achieving client goals and requirements as well as cost and programme targets.
  • In parallel with project work you’ll support major bids, liaise with clients on their upcoming projects and contribute to and potentially lead wider business initiatives.
  • Our Team

    The Project Management & Controls team supports major rail clients on a variety of complex, multi‑disciplinary projects. Our national clients range from Network Rail to HS2, local authorities and an extensive international portfolio. Our teams comprise Project and Programme Managers, Engineering Managers and Commercial Management experts. We work in a flexible and supportive environment, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of our team members.

    Qualifications

    • A passion for deploying, delivering and innovating within Project Controls
    • Degree in a relevant discipline
    • Pathway to achieve chartership, toward Chartered or Membership of a relevant professional body
    • Experience in rail, metro or transport client or project delivery (design or construction) is an advantage
    • Proven ability to work successfully in multi‑disciplinary teams
    • Excellent attention to detail to produce, validate and check reports and data sets
    • Experience in a consultancy environment with strong client relationship management skills
    • Experience with Power Query / Power BI preferable, alongside established reporting / planning / contract management tools
