WSP is looking for a Principal Fire Engineer to lead fire safety design across a diverse portfolio of projects, from universities in Scotland to high‑rise residential towers in London. The role requires liaising with multidisciplinary teams, presenting to local authorities, and supporting the delivery of safe, innovative architectural solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Review design information and coordinate with other disciplines (facades, acoustics, structure) to integrate fire safety.
- Present fire safety solutions to local authorities and the fire service.
- Inform design teams of potential changes to enhance building safety.
- Lead client and stakeholder updates, manage variations, and support project deliveries.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional registration path (IFE, ACE, etc.).
Professional Development

Qualifications
- BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
