A Little More About Your Role…
You will play a pivotal role in pre‑ and post‑contract Quantity Surveying (QS) services to our clients – especially measurement, estimating, procurement and post‑contract commercial management of projects ranging in size and complexity.
YOUR TEAM
You will join a diverse, growing team of Quantity Surveyors specialising in estimating and cost management, working across multiple sectors including highways, structures, public realm, property and maritime.
You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM) – made up of approximately 400 colleagues across the UK. This team provides Quantity Surveying/Cost and Commercial Management, Programme and Project Management and Project Controls services to deliver both Building and Infrastructure projects for public and private clients.
Locations: MANCHESTER, BIRMINGHAM, TEESIDE, BRISTOL & GUILDFORD – near public transport and local amenities.

Essential
- AssocRICS working towards MRICS or a desire to do so.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with estimating at various design stages, measurement methods, digital tools and post‑contract administration (NEC, JCT).
Desirable
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to workload.
- Passionate about making a difference and a dynamic team.
- Alternative, relevant professional qualification or working towards (e.g., CICES, AcostE).
- Degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
- Organisational and time‑management skills, with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR.
- Experience with NEC Contracts and other industry standard contract forms.
- Ability to travel from base office or home to site, client/project offices, other WSP offices, and project locations.
